CDL-A Flatbed Delivery Specialist — Metals Distribution

A Day in the Life

You begin your shift by performing a thorough pre-trip inspection and reviewing your route. In the warehouse, you coordinate with the team to load metal of various shapes and sizes, using an overhead crane and forklift as needed. You verify packaging against customer specifications, secure the load for a flatbed, and head out. On the road, you operate under FMCSA safety standards, making on-time deliveries, completing jobsite pickups, and handling vendor pick-ups as scheduled. Back at the service center, you help unload, move materials, and support teammates to keep productivity high. Throughout the day, you stay focused on safety, accuracy, and exceptional customer service.

What You Will Do

• Load and unload trucks; secure and deliver metals of multiple sizes and profiles to customers
• Pick up materials from customer jobsites and complete vendor pick-ups
• Operate a commercial motor vehicle safely in accordance with FMCSA regulations
• Verify final packaging and documentation per customer requirements
• Operate an overhead crane and forklift to stage and move material
• Maintain high productivity and assist with carrying/moving supplies as needed
• Perform additional tasks and adapt to changing duties as business needs evolve, with or without notice

What You Bring

• High school diploma or GED
• 1–3 years of flatbed driving experience
• Unexpired Class A CDL
• Clean driving record
• Valid FMCSA medical card
• Experience with customer deliveries and pick-ups
• Industrial warehouse background preferred
• Basic math and reading proficiency
• Ability to pass physical requirements for vision, hearing, and mobility

Proficiencies

• DOT Medical Card
• Current CDL License
