Position Overview
Hybrid Role: Warehouse & Road This is an active, hands-on hybrid position. You will split your time between warehouse operations-loading, unloading, and inventory management-and on-road delivery of specialty building materials to customer sites across our service territory. Both sides of the role require physical stamina, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety. |
What You'll Do
Warehouse Duties:
- Safe, efficient, and accurate loading of trucks for next-day customer delivery
- Safe and efficient unloading of incoming stock deliveries, including accurate verification against shipping documents
- Assist "will-call" customers by retrieving orders and loading their vehicles safely and promptly
- Load, unload, and stock inventory in a safe and careful manner
- Maintain the warehouse in a clean and orderly condition
- Build and maintain knowledge of company products
- Manage paperwork and reports as required
- Attend scheduled meetings and training sessions
Driving & Delivery Duties:
- Secure materials: Physically handle and carefully secure building materials (laminates, plywood, solid surfaces) onto the truck, ensuring safe transport
- Safe transportation: Drive commercial vehicles to deliver materials from our warehouse to customer locations across Southern New Jersey & Greater Philadelphia.
- Customer delivery & unloading: Work directly with customers at delivery sites, assisting with unloading and ensuring materials arrive in perfect condition
- Vehicle inspections & maintenance: Perform thorough pre- and post-trip inspections, verify cargo is properly secured, and maintain accurate logs of vehicle repair status and working hours
- Safety & compliance: Follow all safety procedures for cargo transport, adhere to traffic laws, and maintain compliance with DOT regulations
What We're Looking For
Licensing & Credentials:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid CDL A with clean driving record and clean MVR; must pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Forklift Driver's license, or willingness to be trained
Experience & Skills:
- Minimum one year of commercial driving experience preferred
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and eager to learn
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Self-starter who works well independently and as part of a team
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. and remain on your feet for extended periods
- Able to work in varying weather conditions while remaining alert and focused
- Available for shift work
