Description
Dallas 1 Construction & Development is a family-owned business that has been operating for over 30 years. We are looking for a full-time CDL A Driver/Laborer to join our team! This is a key role on our team as you will assist and work with our construction crew to successfully complete projects to meet our customers' expectations.
CDL A Driver/Laborer Responsibilities Include:
- Transport heavy equipment, finished goods, and raw materials over land to and from or work sites.
- Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance.
- Plan routes and meet delivery schedules.
- Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.
- Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions.
- Collect and verify delivery instructions.
- Report defects, accidents, or violations.
- Assists crew on digging ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, or compact and level earth to grade specifications, using picks, shovels, pneumatic tampers, or rakes.
- Assists in the placement, moving and dismantling of signs, barricades, cones, and other traffic devices.
- Organize and retrieves tools for construction crew.
- Assists with flagging traffic.

Requirements
- Proven work experience as a truck driver.
- Hands on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB etc).
- Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations.
- No recent moving or driving violations.
- Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc).
- Willing to submit to background/drug checks and provide employment recommendations.
- Valid CDL license.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned.
