SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE
The Catering Sales Manager will form part of the Event Sales team to maximize revenue. This role will involve working with clients and delivering excellence in guest service by developing relationships with guests, providing personalized service, anticipating, and delivering guests' needs.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Achieve individual and team quarterly booking quotas.
- Responsible for solicitation of new business.
- Responsible for maintenance and growth of existing clients.
- Responsible for site inspections, client entertaining, client visits, hosting receptions and FAMs.
- Able to generate contracts, trace for all group deadlines, creation of BEO and resumes, resolve guest issues and oversee deposit collection and final billing.
- Ability to take inquiries and other phone-related work.
- Maximize individual potential through a positive commitment to training and development and succession planning at all levels, in order to meet current and future manpower demands as well as addressing business issues.
- Ambassador and protector of the brand. Keeper of the brand and the company culture as carried at all levels of the company in the back and front of house areas.
- Responds to guests' requests in an accurate and timely manner.
- Attend meetings with all levels of the team as needed in accordance with the advised meeting schedules.
- All other responsibilities assigned by Management.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Expert in Sales and representation of the hotel, along with excellent knowledge of all facets of the property.
- Understanding how to resolve customer complaints, how to handle guest interactions with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism, accommodating special requests while protecting the culture and financial success of the hotel.
- Has an upbeat, energetic, authentic, and professional attitude at all times.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent phone skills, customer service oriented and proactive.
- Ability to always maintain a positive and professional demeanor.
- Attentive, accountable, and highly organized with the ability to plan multiple activities and meet deadlines.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as a hotel, restaurant, or nightlife Event Sales Manager.
- A bachelor's degree, preferred in hotel or business administration.
- Computer literacy to include: Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with Delphi and Stay N Touch preferred.
