Piccolo Trattoria in Newtown, PA is looking for a talented and passionate Catering Chef to join our culinary team! Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and execute high-quality catering menus for events of varying sizes
- Coordinate food production timelines to ensure on-time, flawless event delivery
- Oversee food presentation, plating, and quality control for all catered events
- Manage kitchen prep, mise en place, and catering logistics
- Collaborate with front-of-house and event staff to ensure seamless service
- Monitor food costs, portion control, and minimize waste
- Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health code standards
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Catering Chef, Banquet Chef, or similar culinary role
- Strong knowledge of Italian cuisine and contemporary cooking techniques
- Ability to manage high-volume food production in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Valid Food Handler's Certification or ServSafe certification preferred
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to direct and motivate kitchen staff
- Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
