The Opportunity

The Category Manager – Electrical Components will be responsible for developing and executing category strategies to optimize cost, quality, delivery, and innovation across Integra’s electrical commodities. This role will focus on building strong supplier relationships, managing strategic sourcing initiatives, and driving value through total cost of ownership (TCO) optimization. The Category Manager will collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, operations, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure sourcing strategies support Integra’s operational, financial, and strategic objectives.

What you will do?

  • Develop and execute commodity strategies for electrical components (e.g., cables, connectors, switchgear, harnesses, control systems).
  • Conduct spend analysis, market intelligence gathering, and risk assessments to inform sourcing decisions.
  • Align category strategies with Integra’s business objectives, SIOP outputs, and cost-reduction goals.
  • Identify, qualify, and develop a robust supplier base for assigned categories.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to optimize total cost of ownership.
  • Lead supplier business reviews (QBRs) and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with suppliers on innovation, process improvement, and lead time reduction.
  • Partner with engineering to ensure components meet technical, compliance, and manufacturability requirements.
  • Work closely with operations and quality to address supplier quality and delivery issues.
  • Support new product introductions (NPI) by sourcing components and onboarding suppliers early in the design process.
  • Identify and deliver cost reduction opportunities through value engineering, volume leverage, and alternative sourcing.
  • Mitigate supply chain risks by developing contingency plans, dual sourcing strategies, and supplier diversification.
  • Monitor commodity market trends and adjust category strategies accordingly.
  • Establish KPIs and scorecards for supplier performance in quality, delivery, cost, and service.
  • Ensure compliance with Integra’s procurement policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
  • Utilize ERP (Deltek Costpoint) and analytics tools to track performance and drive data-driven decision making.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 7–10 years of procurement/category management experience, with at least 3 years in electrical commodities.
  • Strong negotiation, contract management, and supplier development skills.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (Deltek Costpoint preferred) and procurement analytics.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally (10–20%).
  • Strategic and forward-thinking with the ability to execute tactical plans.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills.
  • Results-driven with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Ability to influence and drive change across the organization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment with multi-site and global supply chains preferred.
