    Job Description

    Category Coordinator

    Job Purpose

    The Category Coordinator is responsible for maintaining pricing and data integrity components in the company's procurement systems in a timely and accurate manner, and will assist with the accurate flow of data throughout the host systems. This position will ensure the quality of the data entered and successful transmission to the stores and other information systems, ensuring that our customers have the right product at the correct price. He/She will coordinate promotional activities within the category to ensure timely execution of company objectives. This role will attend and support vendor meetings as needed.

    Item Set-up/Maintenance/Data Entry & Validation

    Input all promotional information into the sales plan management system and ensure its integrity. Validate all data within the category across multiple systems. Generate sign and tag materials to support daily functions and promotional activities. Proof all ads, tags and signs weekly.

    Promotion Execution

    Support the category's promotional strategies by collaborating with other category teams and departments to ensure all tasks are completed. Coordinate various project timelines in order to meet implementation goals.

    Store Problem Resolution

    Monitor UPC scanning email folder for store level system issues related to item authorization, markdown needs and customer requests. Review and coordinate responses to ad alerts as problems arise with promotional offers. Works with stores and support teams to problem solve on a daily basis. Trouble shoot issues with vendors as needed.

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

    • Demonstrated strong PC skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (specifically Excel)
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively convey detailed information to a diverse population
    • Ability to prioritize and organize multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to strict deadlines.

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Preferred

    • Proven category experience in a retail environment.
    • Bachelors degree in Business or related field.
