    Cast Iron Prep Machine Operator
    Job Title: Cast Iron Prep Machine Operator
    Pay: $20/Hr.
    Bonus Opportunities:

    • $500 sign-on bonus + 6% bonus on wages earned during your first 90 days - paid after 90 days

    • Performance bonus of 2% to 8% - paid every 6 months

    • Friday overtime & 10% additional wage bonus for Friday

    Location: Gorham, Maine

    Join the Cast Iron Prep team in Gorham, Maine! As a Machine Operator, you'll prepare cast iron components used to build high-quality gas and wood stoves and inserts.

    You'll operate a variety of production machinery and tools, perform repetitive machine operations, prepare parts, and work across different production stations as needed.

    No prior manufacturing experience is necessary - training is provided.

    What You'll Do
    As a Cast Iron Prep Machine Operator, you will:

    • Set up and operate grinders, belt sanders, tapping arms, and vertical and horizontal drilling machines

    • Operate ergonomic equipment and other related production tools

    • Prepare cast iron parts and accessories for gas and wood stoves/inserts

    • Place parts in the specified relationship to one another

    • Apply gaskets to components

    • Kit and crate parts for production and shipment

    • Work at different workstations as production needs require

    • Maintain staging areas, keeping traffic lanes open and minimizing wasted space

    • Remove pallets, break down Euro crates, remove trash, and recycle cardboard

    • Operate and empty the cardboard crusher when needed

    • Perform quality and production tasks according to established procedures

    • Follow all safety guidelines and participate in required safety programs

    • Work cooperatively with coworkers and supervisors

    • Perform other duties as assigned

    Physical Requirements
    This is a hands-on manufacturing position that requires standing, walking, reaching, handling materials, and repetitive movements throughout the workday.
    The position may require:

    • Standing for extended periods

    • Frequent walking and handling/fingering

    • Frequent lifting of 10–50 lbs

    • Occasional lifting of 51–100 lbs

    • Frequent reaching, including above shoulder level

    • Occasional squatting, kneeling, bending, and pushing/pulling

    • Working around machinery and production equipment

    • Ability to wear required PPE


    Safety & PPE
    Employees are required to follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including:

    • Steel-toe shoes

    • Safety glasses

    • Face shield

    • Face mask when applicable

    • Cut-resistant gloves when applicable

    • Hearing protection


    The work environment can reach 90–100°F seasonally, so candidates should be comfortable working in a warm warehouse/manufacturing environment.
