    Casino Shift Manager
     
    SUMMARY
    Responsible for the overall activity of the Table Games Department on an assigned shift.  Responsible for hiring, training, and coaching employees. Responsible for ensuring the compliance with all policies and procedures and all internal and external regulations. Assures excellent guest service to all patrons by communicating in a pleasant, friendly and professional manner. Responsible for the overall operation of the hotel/casino when departmental directors are not on property.
     
    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
    1. Manages the operational activities of the department on an assigned shift to include, but not limited to: staffing levels, budgets, and financial goals.
    2. Recommends procedures to improve the operating quality and efficiency of the Table Games Department
    3. Prepares and analyzes daily, weekly and monthly reports.  Develops and implements changes in accordance with current needs.
    4. Ensures excellent guest service levels are maintained by all Casino floor staff.
    5. Ensures that customer database is maintained and information is accurate.
    6. Trains new supervisors.
    7. Identifies and resolves guest and employee concerns.
    8. Serves as the main contact and decision-maker for all departments when departmental directors are not available.
    9. Participates in departmental brainstorming meetings.
    10. Oversees and accurately administers the operation of the Table Games Pit Areas.
    11. Holds at least weekly pre-shift meetings with entire shift staff to inform about upcoming events, procedure changes, hotel guests, etc.
    12. Must maintain a visible floor presence.
    13. Must always maintain excellent guest interaction.
    14. Other duties as assigned.
     
     
    ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
    1. Recruits, trains, supervises, motivates and evaluates department staff.
    2. Complete human resource paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
    3. Communicates with Supervisors, Managers, and Directors on Departmental operations.
     
    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
    1. Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.  This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent.
    2. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and telephone protocol. Computer literate with emphasis on Word and Excel. Ability to learn new software applications (CMS casino system, IGT Slot system, LMS hotel system). Duties require professional verbal and written communication skills. Position requires attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.  Strong interpersonal and communication skill.
    3. High school diploma or equivalent required.
    4. At least ten years of casino related experience, with at least 5 years in a Management position.
    5. Must have complete knowledge of all casino games, including, but not limited to, Black Jack, Roulette, and Baccarat with Craps as a priority.
    6. Visibility requires maintaining a professional appearance and providing a positive company image to the public.
    7. Must have a working understanding of Title31.
    8. Must be 21 years of age.
    9. Must be able to obtain all local, state and federal regulatory permits as required by position.
    10. Requires willingness to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends, holidays, evenings, and all shifts. Days off may change as business or schedule warrants. Must be able to be mobile throughout the casino.
     
    WORKING CONDITIONS
    Working conditions involve walking and meeting and greeting guests in all gaming areas. Work may require weekend and evening work. Must work calmly and under stress when the volume of business increases.  Must be able to stand for extended periods of time. Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondary smoke and high noise levels.
