Cashier

Introduction:

We are seeking a friendly and reliable Cashier to join our team and provide excellent service to our customers. The Cashier is responsible for greeting guests, accurately entering orders, processing cash and electronic payments, answering menu questions, and ensuring orders are complete and accurate. This position maintains a clean and welcoming front counter, assists with stocking and order preparation, follows food safety and company procedures, and works closely with kitchen staff and management to provide fast, courteous, and exceptional guest service. 

Responsibilities:

• Greet every guest in a friendly, professional, and welcoming manner.
• Accurately take customer orders and enter them into the point-of-sale (POS) system.
• Process cash, credit/debit card, gift card, and other approved payment methods.
• Maintain accuracy when handling cash and operating the register.
• Answer questions about menu items, flavors, sizes, pricing, and available options.
• Assist guests with menu selections and provide appropriate product recommendations.
• Verify orders for accuracy before they are given to guests.
• Package and prepare completed orders for dine-in, takeout, pickup, or delivery.
• Assist with beverages, desserts, toppings, and other front-counter items as assigned.
• Maintain a clean, stocked, and organized front counter, dining, and guest-service area.
• Restock cups, lids, utensils, napkins, packaging, and other supplies.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, personal hygiene, and workplace safety procedures.
• Communicate clearly with kitchen staff, Shift Leads, and management regarding guest orders and concerns.
• Handle guest questions and concerns professionally and notify management when assistance is needed.
• Assist with opening, closing, and assigned cleaning duties.
• Support other team members during busy periods.
• Follow all company policies, procedures, and service standards.
• Perform other restaurant duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a cashier or in a customer service role.

• Friendly and positive attitude with a strong customer-service mindset.
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with guests and coworkers.
• Basic math skills and ability to accurately handle cash and payments.
• Ability to learn and operate a POS/register system.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to follow instructions.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to remain professional and organized in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail and commitment to order accuracy.
• Willingness to learn menu items, products, promotions, and restaurant procedures.
• Must follow applicable food-handler and food-safety requirements.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
