We are seeking a friendly, reliable, and detail-oriented Cashier to join our team at Green's Natural Foods, Basking Ridge. The ideal candidate is passionate about healthy living, sustainability, and providing excellent customer service. As a cashier, you will be the final point of contact for customers, ensuring a positive shopping experience while accurately processing transactions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet customers warmly and provide a welcoming checkout experience
- Accurately scan and process purchases using the point-of-sale (POS) system
- Handle cash, credit/debit cards, and mobile payments responsibly
- Answer customer questions about products, including organic and locally sourced items
- Assist with bagging groceries while following proper handling of fresh and delicate items
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked checkout area
- Verify product codes for bulk items and produce
- Support store operations by restocking shelves or assisting other departments as needed
- Follow all store policies, including those related to food safety and sustainability practices
Qualifications:
- Previous cashier or retail experience preferred but not required
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Basic math skills and attention to detail
- Interest in organic food, health, and environmentally conscious products
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Dependable and punctual with a positive attitude
