Are you the kind of person who remembers a familiar face and likes helping people get on with their day? We’re looking for a dependable cashier to welcome customers, handle their purchases accurately, and help make Wood Shed a place people enjoy coming back to.


You don’t need to know everything about lumber or hardware when you start. You do need to be friendly, willing to learn, and comfortable asking a teammate for help when a customer needs more information.


What you’ll do

• Greet customers and provide friendly, helpful checkout service
  
  
• Process purchases, returns, and account payments accurately
  
  
• Answer phone calls and help customers find the right person or department
  
  
• Learn about our products, services, and store programs so you can answer common questions
  
  
• Keep the checkout area clean, stocked, and organized
  
  
• Help with stocking, displays, and other store tasks when needed
  
  
• Follow store procedures for handling payments and balancing the cash till
  
  

What we’re looking for

• A friendly, professional approach to customers and coworkers
  
  
• Dependability and attention to detail
  
  
• Basic math and computer skills, with a willingness to learn our checkout system

Schedule


This position includes a mix of weekday and rotating weekend shifts, which may include Saturdays and Sundays. Opening, daytime, and closing shifts may be scheduled based on store needs. Hours may vary from week to week, and occasional holiday availability may be needed.
