    About the role

    Reporting directly to the Senior Accounting Manager, the Cash Reconciliation Accountant is primarily responsible for cash reconciliation and related reporting activities. This position provides a great growth opportunity for the right individual who will be able to accept additional responsibilities as the company grows.

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Ensure that all cash deposit transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
    • Extract data from bank statements and organize it into standardized reports.
    • Monitor all depository accounts and compile cash activity into weekly reports.
    • Reconcile cash and credit card deposits at the practice level, identifying discrepancies between cash system reports and actual bank deposits.
    • Research and resolve cash reconciliation discrepancies in coordination with practice managers.
    • Respond to inquiries and provide support to other departments regarding deposit transactions and reconciliations.
    • Prepare monthly cash-related journal entries.
    • Perform month-end close activities, including the preparation and review of journal entries in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
    • Prepare account analyses and reconciliations for assigned balance sheet accounts.
    • Identify and recommend process improvements within the role's areas of responsibility.
    • Collaborate with other corporate departments to research and resolve reconciling items.
    • Maintain accurate, timely, and well-organized electronic and paper records, including supporting documentation for assigned areas of responsibility.
    • Utilize AEG systems, dashboards, and policies to support effective internal controls, best cash-handling practices, and efficient reconciliation processes.
    • Crosstrain in designated finance functions to support employee development and departmental continuity and serve as a cross-functional backup when needed.
    • Assist the Accounting Manager with special projects and other duties as assigned.
