    The Cash Balancing POD Department Lead provides administrative, operational, and customer service support for Deposit Operations bookkeeping functions, with primary responsibility for Official Stop Payments, Official Large Item Review, Offsite ATM Reconciliation, Cash Ordering, Cash Balancing, and POD adjustment corrections. Ensures accurate transaction processing, timely resolution of discrepancies, compliance with policies and procedures, and excellent service to internal and external vendors. Assists management with scheduling, staffing coordination, workflow distribution, and operational support to achieve departmental goals and service standards.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Identifies and corrects out of balance transactions on cash reconciliation sheets.
    • Responds to department phone calls and emails professionally and timely.
    • Assists branches in locating and correcting outages.
    • Reviews and works daily cash management and POD reports.
    • Reviews multiple internal accounts, such as teller and operational suspense, to minimize any loss.

    Competencies Required

    • Proficiency with 10 key by touch and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, Access), and the ability to quickly learn and navigate banking software applications and systems.
    • Excellent organizational and data entry skills, with the ability to multi-task, maintain accuracy, and met deadlines in a fast paced, high volume environment.
    • Good written and verbal communications skills.
    • Customer service orientation with effective problem solving abilities and strong analytical skills.
    • Self-starter possessing the ability to work independently while supporting a team environment.
    • Ability to follow directions and apply proper policies, procedures and guidelines.
    • Ability to work flexible hours; demonstrated good attendance and punctuality.
    • Strong attention to detail and high concern for data accuracy.
    • Maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.

    Minimum Qualifications/Experience

    • 3 or more years of banking or financial services operations experience. Three years of Bookkeeping or Deposit Operations experience preferred.

    Formal Education & Certification

    • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
