Kforce has a client that is seeking a Cash Aps Specialist in Zelienople, PA.
Summary:
The Cash Applications Specialist is responsible for accurately processing and applying customer payments, researching payment discrepancies, performing cash reconciliations, and maintaining accurate accounts receivable records. This role partners with Accounts Receivable and Collections teams to resolve outstanding items and support timely and accurate financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Apply daily customer payments, including ACH, wire transfers, checks, credit cards, and lockbox receipts
- Accurately match payments to customer accounts and outstanding invoices
- Research and resolve unapplied cash, short payments, overpayments, deductions, and payment discrepancies
- Cash Aps Specialist will review remittance information and ensure payments are posted accurately and timely
- Monitor and resolve unapplied and unidentified cash balances
- Perform daily and monthly cash reconciliations between bank activity, customer accounts, and the general ledger
- Partner with Accounts Receivable and Collections teams to resolve account and payment discrepancies
- Process customer refunds, credit balances, and account adjustments
- Maintain accurate documentation related to cash application activities
- Assist with month-end close, reconciliations, and reporting
- As a Cash Aps Specialist, you will support internal and external audit requests
- Identify opportunities to improve or automate cash application processes
- Maintain compliance with accounting policies and internal controls
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in cash applications, accounts receivable, or a related accounting function
- Experience processing high-volume customer payments preferred
- Strong understanding of accounts receivable and cash reconciliation processes
- Experience researching and resolving unapplied cash and payment discrepancies
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
