Position Overview: Our client is seeking a
Cash Applications Specialist for a temporary assignment to provide coverage during a medical leave. This position is expected to last approximately 1 - 2 months. The ideal candidate will have hands-on cash applications experience and be dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced accounting environment.
Responsibilities of the Cash Applications Specialist:- Process and apply customer payments accurately and promptly.
- Apply cash receipts to the appropriate customer accounts and invoices.
- Research and resolve payment discrepancies and unapplied cash.
- Review customer account information and ensure accurate payment posting.
- Assist with account reconciliations and cash application-related issues.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Work closely with the Accounts Receivable team to resolve discrepancies.
- Follow established processes and procedures to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Perform additional Accounts Receivable duties as needed.
Required Experience/Skills for the Cash Applications Specialist:- Hands-on cash applications experience.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Dependable and reliable.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to quickly learn and work with proprietary software.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Cash Applications Specialist:- Experience with D&B (Dun & Bradstreet).
- Additional Accounts Receivable experience.
- Experience working in a high-volume cash applications environment.
