Case Work Supervisor III
Location: All 6 Facilities in Cranston, Rhode Island
Client: Rhode Island Department of Corrections (RIDOC)
Schedule: Monday-Friday, approximately 35 hours per week
Projected End Date/Duration: 3 Months from projected start date

Licensed Substance Use Disorder Clinician (Correctional Health Services)
Position Overview
The Department of Corrections is seeking four experienced and licensed behavioural health professionals to provide substance use disorder treatment services to incarcerated individuals across all six secure correctional facilities in Cranston, RI.
The selected clinicians will work collaboratively with correctional, medical, and behavioural health staff to create a therapeutic and recovery-focused environment while delivering evidence-based treatment services to individuals struggling with substance use disorders.

Key Responsibilities
• Conduct comprehensive Bio-Psycho-Social Assessments
• Develop individualized treatment plans using evidence-based practices
• Provide individual counselling and therapeutic interventions
• Facilitate psychoeducational and treatment-focused group counselling sessions
• Apply ASAM criteria in assessment, treatment planning, and level-of-care recommendations
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care
• Support discharge planning and re-entry preparation when applicable
• Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in electronic medical record systems
• Foster a safe, recovery-oriented treatment environment within a correctional setting


Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, Behavioural Health, or a related field
• Active Rhode Island license in good standing as one of the following:
o LCDP
o LCDCS
o LMHC
o LICSW
o LMFT
• Demonstrated experience diagnosing and treating substance use disorders
• Working knowledge of ASAM Criteria
• Experience facilitating both individual and group counselling
• Strong assessment, treatment planning, and documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working in correctional, forensic, residential, or community behavioural health settings
• Bilingual Spanish-speaking ability
• Experience with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems
Required Skills

• Ability to build rapport with diverse populations
• Strong clinical judgment and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary environment
• Adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced clinical setting
• Professional interaction with patients, medical staff, and security personnel
