Who We Are:

Mental Health Support Services (MHSS) is the provider of mental health, developmental disabilities, and substance use disorder services for children and adults in Chesterfield County. The Office Based Addiction Treatment (OBAT) Program is on a mission-bringing together a dynamic, multidisciplinary team to support recovery through medication-assisted treatment. As a part-time Case Manager, you're a key player on this journey, teaming up with clinical social workers, peer specialists, and medical staff to help clients unlock the tools and resources they need to reach their personal recovery goals. You will work both in the office and out in the community, where no two days are the same. You will advocate, connect, and coordinate, building powerful partnerships and ensuring each client is supported by a full circle of wraparound care every step of the way. Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in a human services field, such as psychology, sociology, rehabilitation counseling, or a related field; two years of experience in a human services field; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) certification preferred or Certified Substance Abuse Counselor Assistant (CSAC-A) certification preferred. Three years of experience working in a community-based human services position preferred; one year of experience working with the substance use community preferred; experience in a Community Services Board setting preferred; experience working within a multidisciplinary team preferred.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Working knowledge of case management methods, practices, and procedures. Ability to interview clients to identify deficiencies in personal, social, economic and health needs; to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment providing treatment and rehabilitation services; to communicate effectively orally and in writing; to operate a personal computer and related software and other standard office equipment; to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers. Knowledge of substance use diagnostic indicators, motivational interviewing, medication assisted treatment, and trauma-informed care techniques preferred; skill in delivering assessment tools, collaborative treatment planning and progress note writing preferred; ability to display a person-centered, compassionate, non-judgmental stance preferred; ability to engage with individuals safely in a community setting preferred; ability to effectively work within a multidisciplinary setting preferred.

Additional Requirements:

Current valid driver's license and good driving record required. Based on the Virginia DMV point system, records must not reflect a total of six or more demerit points within the twenty-four months preceding the anticipated hire date, or one major violation of six demerit points within the preceding thirty-six months. Out-of-state driving records must be obtained by applicant and presented at time of interview. Records must reflect at least three years of history and be dated within thirty days of interview date.

Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required.

This position is a part of an approved Career Development Plan (CDP) and offers career progression opportunities and salary incentives, as funding permits, based on performance, qualifications, and experience.
