Summary:Bridge Defense is seeking a Cartographic Analyst or full-time salaried positions supporting an Intelligence Community partner. These positions are currently planned for second shift, Monday through Friday, from 1500–2300.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The GIS / Cartographic Analyst will work within a government/contractor team environment providing Digital Nautical Chart and Electronic Nautical Chart Conversion, Production and Review as well as provide support to existing and developing mission areas. Future needs and capabilities, as well as developmental assignments, are included.
Required Qualifications, Education, and Experience:
- A total of 5 points of relevant background via one of the following pathways:
- High School diploma and 5 years of relevant military or full-time geospatial professional experience.
- High School diploma and 4 years of experience plus GPC Level I and II certification.
- Relevant bachelor’s degree and 2 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in geography, cartography, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS), with proficiency in ArcGIS applications.
- Knowledge of digital cartography, GIS production techniques, and other maritime digital data formats.
- Demonstrated ability to adhere to and apply IC analytic tradecraft standards (e.g. ICDS 203, 206, 208).
- Experience creating shapefiles, geodatabases, and geospatial features
- Knowledge of digital cartography, image processing, GIS, geospatial production techniques, and NGA digital data formats
- The ability to analyze imagery and non-imagery sources for NGA hydrographic products and databases
- Conduct Digital Nautical Chart and Electronic Nautical Chart conversion and production
- Extract features from rasterized nautical charts, digital hydrographic survey data, ortho-rectified imagery, and other approved sources
- Update source information and source catalogs
- Conduct data conversion and migration activities
- Analyze imagery and non-imagery source information for use in NGA hydrographic products and databases
- Excellent oral, writing, and coordination skills to communicate factual information clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, often under pressure and tight deadlines that meets or exceeds established analytical standards.
Desired Qualifications, Education, and Experience:
- Previous experience in Nautical Maritime domains.
- BA degree and 2 – 4 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with less than 2 years of prior relevant experience.

- Ability to develop peer networks across an enterprise to maintain technology awareness and to support resolution of problems.
- Ability to operate across traditional technical boundaries, comfortable working in the compute space as well as the storage space in an operational capacity.
- Technically curious and driven to learn new skills.
Clearance: TS/SCI Clearance (with CI Poly, or willingness to sit for CI Poly)
Location: Springfield, VA; On-Site/Hybrid
Salary Range: 85K - 100K
General Factors:
- Depending on project requirements, may be required to work within a compressed schedule; overtime should be expected when schedules demand it.
- Willing to travel, if needed.
- No Relocation.
- Must be able to sit/stand at a desk for long-periods and must be able to lift 20 pounds occasionally.
- Must be able to multi-task and rapidly change priorities with limited notice.
