Carrier Representative
Shift: 1st, (8 AM-5PM)
Pay: $20/hr (Based on Experience)
Job Description:
Develop and maintain a book of business by generating leads, prospecting new carriers, and growing existing accounts.
Source, qualify, and onboard reputable carriers to cover customer freight at competitive rates.
Negotiate pricing and contracts with shippers and carriers to maximize margin while providing market-competitive service.
Book loads, schedule pickups and deliveries, and coordinate daily with carriers and drivers.
Track and trace shipments, provide proactive status updates, and resolve in-transit issues or service failures.
Maintain accurate shipment, rate, and communication records in the TMS/CRM.
Stay current on freight markets, lanes, and capacity trends to advise customers and price freight effectively.
Qualifications:
1–2+ years of freight brokerage, carrier sales, or transportation/logistics experience strongly preferred.
Proven success in building long-term customer relationships.
Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
Comfortable working in a metric-driven environment with daily/weekly load and margin goals.
Proficient with computers, web-based TMS, email, and load board
