Position Summary:
The Commercial Carpenter is responsible for performing skilled carpentry work on commercial construction projects including framing, installation, finishing, and general construction activities. This position requires knowledge of commercial building practices, blueprint reading, safe tool operation, and the ability to work efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and building plans for information pertaining to the task assigned.
- Ability to use carpenter tools to measure, cut and assemble different types of materials.
- Able to frame and install doors, windows, blocking and stairs.
- Install temporary protection, safety barriers, guardrails, access panels, and other make safe measures.
- Work closely and follow direction from site Forman and Superintendents.
- Ensure compliance and understanding of company safety rules.
- Able to move and lift 50lbs on a consistent basis.
- Assist with close out and punch list items.
- Assist with basic documentation of self-performed work, including photos and daily reporting.
- Follow all OSHA safety regulations and company safety policies.
What you need to be successful in this role:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two years of experience working in the construction industry
- Knowledge of commercial and multi-family construction techniques, tools, and equipment
- Reliable transportation.
This is an hourly, non-exempt position, 40 hours per week. Hourly range: $37.00/hour - $42.00/hour.
