Responsibilities: This position is responsible for performing Carpentry duties and other general maintenance duties as assigned. Reporting to the Director of Plant Operations and Maintenance.

Qualifications: Applicant must have knowledge of the proper safety procedures and standards for operating power equipment and hand tools associated with the carpentry trade. Skilled in the use and maintenance of a variety of hand and power tools used in carpenter duties. Ability to perform work related to carpentry trade and other general maintenance duties. Ability to measure, saw, cut, sand, glue, seal, finish, stain, texture, and paint a variety of materials. Ability to construct walls, install doors and frames, hang suspended ceilings, build cabinets, remodel, and repair. Ability to read, write, and carry out oral/or written instructions. Ability to read and use architectural drawings. Ability to safely use power equipment used in the carpentry trade. Ability to perform hard physical labor under adverse environments and weather conditions. Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in carpentry or building trades.

Salary: The minimum hourly salary for this position is $20.50 - $25.00, and the actual starting salary will be dependent upon education and experience of the chosen candidate.

Fringe Benefits: This position covers health insurance at 100% for the employee. Additional optional coverages include dental, vision, AD&D, life insurance, and long- and short-term disability. Other benefits include retirement under the Teacher Retirement System of Texas, accrued sick leave, vacation, paid holidays, and an employee reimbursement/dependent scholarship program. Health benefits require a 60-day employment period.
