Essential Functions

To perform the Carousel Bar Busser/food runner position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential duties and responsibilities of the Carousel Bar Busser position are as follow:     

• Clear and reset tables by sanitizing tables and cleaning seats

• Add fresh place setting

• Fill and refill water glasses and deliver complimentary snacks

• Deliver trays of food to table
• Must be available to work a flexible shift to include weekend and holiday scheduling

• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required for an individual to successfully perform the duties and responsibility of the Carousel Bar Busser position:

Language Ability

The individual selected for the Carousel Bar Busser position must demonstrate the ability to:

• Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos

• Write simple correspondence

• Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other associates of the hotel

Math Ability

The individual selected for the Carousel Bar Busser position must demonstrate the ability to:

• Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals

• Compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs 

Reasoning Ability

The individual selected for the Carousel Bar Busser position must demonstrate the ability to:

• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions

• Deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations

Certificates and Licenses

The individual selected for the Carousel Bar Busser position must possess a valid Louisiana’s Responsible Vendor Permit or the ability to attend a class and pass the test with a score of 90% or better.

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an individual encounters while performing the essential functions of the Carousel Bar Busser position:

• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate

Physical Demands

• The individual must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds

• While performing the duties of this position, the individual is regularly required to talk or hear

Position Status and Availability

The individual selected for the Carousel Bar Busser position must be available to work a part-time, flexible (AM or PM) shift, Monday - Sunday including holidays.

Education and Experience

The individual selected for the Carousel Bar Busser position must possess:

• A high school diploma or general education degree (GED)

• At least one (1) year of customer service experience

Previous restaurant and or bar experience is highly preferred.
