Description

Construction Director

The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys ownership, autonomy, and relationship-building just as much as project execution. This individual will initially manage projects while helping develop the company's local footprint and subcontractor network. As the office grows, this person would be positioned to become a key leader within the organization.

Responsibilities include managing commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout, developing and maintaining relationships with local subcontractors and vendors, supporting business development efforts alongside company leadership, assisting in identifying and pursuing new opportunities throughout Charlotte, serving as the local representative of the company within the market, coordinating estimating, procurement, and project execution efforts, building relationships with owners, developers, brokers, architects, and consultants, supporting recruiting and future team growth efforts as the office expands, collaborating with executive leadership on strategic growth initiatives, and helping establish operational processes and local market presence.

Required experience includes project management or senior project management experience, commercial construction background, strong understanding of local subcontractor relationships, experience managing projects independently, excellent client-facing communication skills, and proven ability to build and maintain relationships.

Preferred experience includes retail construction, medical office buildings, urgent care facilities, self-storage facilities, childcare/preschool projects, commercial renovations, and site development projects.
