About the Role
The Caring Together Respite Care Specialist plays a vital role in supporting older adults and their caregivers. This position provides compassionate, short‑term care and supervision designed to ensure safety, comfort, and meaningful social engagement. By offering respite services, the specialist helps caregivers rest, recharge, and maintain stability at home-while promoting dignity, independence, and connection for the individuals served.

Key Responsibilities
Direct Support & Engagement
- Provide caring, respectful supervision and support to older adults in a community-based environment.
- Promote dignity, independence, and personal choice for all participants.
- Accompany participants on community outings and facilitate meaningful daily activities.
- Assist with menu planning and meal preparation as needed.
- Build trusting, supportive relationships with program participants and caregivers.
Safety, Compliance & Participant Well‑Being
- Ensure protection from abuse, neglect, mistreatment, and exploitation by following all agency policies.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment, including housekeeping and basic maintenance tasks.
- Comply with agency Safety Policies, Corporate Compliance standards, and HIPAA regulations.
- Transport participants safely when required, using available agency resources.
- Report all incidents or accidents promptly and complete necessary documentation.
Communication & Team Collaboration
- Promote open communication among staff, volunteers, participants, and caregivers.
- Implement program plans and activities provided by the supervisor.
- Participate in staff meetings, agency committees, and trainings as assigned.
- Demonstrate commitment to the agency mission, outcomes, and core values.
Documentation & Administrative Responsibilities
- Complete accurate and timely documentation, including daily notes, attendance, inventories, and timesheets.
- Review records for accuracy and quality assurance when directed.
- Submit all required paperwork on schedule each pay period.
Education:
- High School diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 1 year documented experience with special populations.
- Ability to obtain and maintain required trainings/certifications including First Aid/ CPR,
