What You'll Do:
- Lay out, position, align and fits together fabricated parts of metal according to layouts, work orders, blueprints, schematics and sketches in preparation for welding
- Tack-welds pieces together
- Apply appropriate welding processes to join, surface, fabricate and repair parts of metal or other weld-able materials according to layouts, work orders, blueprints schematics and sketches using manual and/or semi-automatic welding equipment
- Lay out and mark weld points on parts or subassemblies
- Position pieces to be welded into jigs, holding fixtures, guides and steps using measuring instruments and hand tools
- Inspect completed work for conformance to specifications
- Observe all standard safety practices and maintains and completes all required records
- Follow all safety rules and practices
- Be involved in safety committees or initiatives
- May perform GMAW, FCAW, or SMAW welding
- May weld on stainless
- Perform out-of-position welding and repairs
What You'll Need:
- 1-2 years of experience preferred
- Proficiency in fillet & grove weld, Oxy-Fuel Cutting, and Carbon Arcing
- Ability to pass weld assessment
- Ability to accurately measure within specified tolerances
- Ability to work first shift hours 6:00am - 4:30pm and all required overtime to include weekends if required
