    Title of Position: Career Services Coordinator - Full-time, 12-month position

    Position Summary

    Under direction of the Director of Career Services, the Career Services Coordinator serves as the primary operational lead for employer engagement, recruitment logistics, and career events. This position expands internships, employment, and experiential learning opportunities by cultivating employer partnerships and coordinating high-impact employer-facing programs and events. The coordinator also conducts outreach to students, including individual meetings and group presentations on a variety of career readiness topics.

    Key Responsibilities

    Employer Relations

    • Build relationships with organizations seeking Wartburg talent.
    • Assist with recruiting and maintaining employer partnerships, with particular emphasis on alumni stakeholders.
    • Coordinate, schedule, and participate in employer engagement visits on and off campus.
    • Assist in developing employer partnerships that expand internship, experiential learning, and employment opportunities.
    • Articulate the value of a Wartburg liberal arts education to key internal and external stakeholders.

    Career Events

    • Coordinate career fairs and employer networking events.
    • Manage employer registration and event logistics.
    • Plan employer engagement initiatives, including networking receptions and industry panels, often in conjunction with Alumni Office staff.
    • Coordinate programs such as the 40 Under 40 Career Conversations.

    Technology & Operations

    • Manage employer onboarding and engagement within Handshake platform.
    • Maintain employer records and communication within Handshake and Knight Nation.
    • Support employer marketing and outreach efforts.
    • Track employer engagement metrics and event participation.

    Collaboration & Outreach

    • Partner with the Director of Career Services to implement employer engagement strategies.
    • Collaborate with other members of the Career Connections Team to connect employers with student leadership initiatives and professional development programming.
    • Support employer and student participation in job shadowing, mock interviews, and other career readiness initiatives lead by the Career Connections team.
    • Provide career readiness programming and outreach that supports students in preparing for internships, employment, and employer engagement, including resume reviews, internship and job search strategies, and interview preparation.
    • Support and participate in general Student Life activities and initiatives as needed and able.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree.
    • Ability to articulate the benefits of a liberal arts education via strong writing and speaking skills.
    • Strong attention to detail, multi-tasking, and technology skills.
    • Excellent customer service and event planning abilities.
    • Ability to confidently build rapport with diverse students, team members, and employers.
    • Capable of meeting goals and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • Ability to participate in approximately four to six weeks of employer recruitment travel spaced throughout the year, including overnight and occasional weekend work.
