We are seeking our next Career Pathways Education Coordinator who will be all-in on our mission and who supports the coordination and implementation of Career and Technical Education (CTE) dual credit pathways and career exploration initiatives that expand access to technical education opportunities across the Texas Panhandle. This position collaborates with K-12 school districts, Amarillo College faculty, and community partners to support workforce pathways and student success.

The Career Pathway Education Coordinator assists with technical dual credit programming for high school students, including program promotion, student advising, enrollment support, curriculum alignment, and partnership development. This position also supports K-8 career awareness programming and serves as a liaison between Amarillo College and regional school districts to support program implementation, professional development, grant activities, and program compliance.

This is a grant-funded position. Continued employment is contingent upon grant funding.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

Required: Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, workforce development, Career and Technical Education (CTE), or a related field.

Preferred: Masters Degree.

EXPERIENCE:

Required: Two (2) years of experience in an educational setting, preferably in higher education, secondary education, Career and Technical Education (CTE), student services, workforce development, or program coordination.

Preferred: Experience with dual credit programs, student advising, grant-funded initiatives, educational outreach, or academic program coordination.

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES:

Required: Valid Texas Class C Driver's License with a three (3) year safe driving record.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support the implementation of technical dual credit pathways in partnership with Amarillo College faculty, deans, and regional school districts.
• Collaborate with high school administrators, counselors, and Career and Technical Education (CTE) instructors to identify needs and support the expansion of dual credit opportunities in technical fields including healthcare, welding, automotive, HVAC, information technology, CIS, industrial technologies, and skilled trades.
• Assist faculty and academic leadership with aligning secondary CTE curriculum to Amarillo College certificate and Associate of Applied Science (AAS) programs.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for K-12 partners regarding technical dual credit programming, student participation, and pathway information.
• Promote educational opportunities through presentations, workshops, campus visits, outreach events, informational materials, and community engagement activities.
• Assist students and families with the Amarillo College admissions, enrollment, and registration process for technical dual credit programs.
• Provide advising and support to dual credit students related to course selection, registration, academic pathways, and campus resources.
• Coordinate and facilitate age-appropriate career exploration activities, workshops, camps, and educational experiences for K-8 students focused on career awareness and workforce readiness.
• Collaborate with faculty to support instructional delivery and assist with adapting traditional course content into hybrid or career-focused learning experiences.
• Coordinate training and professional development opportunities for high school instructors teaching dual credit coursework in collaboration with Amarillo College faculty and academic departments.
• Serve as a liaison between secondary educators and Amarillo College faculty to facilitate communication regarding curriculum, expectations, student support, and instructional alignment.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to support guest speaker opportunities, work-based learning experiences, mentorship activities, and employer engagement initiatives.
• Track student participation, progress, and program outcomes through data collection and reporting to support grant objectives and continuous improvement efforts.
• Maintain accurate student, program, and partnership records in accordance with institutional, accreditation, and state requirements.
• Prepare reports related to enrollment, student success, participation, and grant performance measures.
• Assist with grant implementation, reporting requirements, and funding opportunities related to career pathway and dual credit initiatives.
• Stay informed regarding state, regional, and institutional policies and best practices related to dual credit, workforce education, and Career and Technical Education programming.
• Perform other related duties as required.

• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.

Salary: Amarillo College follows a lag pay strategy, with starting offers typically between the minimum and midpoint of the pay grade, rarely reaching the maximum to support long-term growth within each position.

Pay grade 12 Amarillo College Pay Grades(salary is determined by Human Resources based on education, work experience and internal comparisons).

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to travel between offices, campuses, and regional school districts and may occasionally lift, carry, push, pull, and/or maneuver equipment or supplies up to twenty-five (25) pounds.

Working Conditions: Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, primarily daytime hours with occasional evenings and weekends to support outreach events, student activities, summer programming, and program operations.

Work Environment: This position operates in a professional educational environment including office, classroom, community, and K-12 settings and routinely utilizes standard office and educational technology. Duties regularly involve interaction with students, faculty, administrators, school district personnel, employers, and community stakeholders and may require travel throughout the service area.
