Job Summary

Serve as liaison to the academic divisions, particularly Workforce programs in order to provide students with specialized career and employment services. This position will be responsible for identified Workforce programs, employment/job placement activities and student success and retention related activities on all campuses.

Essential Duties

Provide career and employment/job placement services to students at designated campuses.

Develop expertise in the utilization of labor market data to the local job market and advise students on the connection of in-demand jobs to college programs.

Provide students with guidance on all career and employment related computerized resources.

Work closely with the Employment & Internship Specialists to develop information for students on opportunities in internships/apprenticeships.

Facilitate activities and presentations related to career and retention services at all designated campuses, including but not limited to new student orientation, job fairs, lunch and learn, etc. These presentations will include information on the local labor market and relationships to college credit and non-credit programs.

Track student progress and assesses effectiveness of all programs related to career and retention services.

Refer students to academic support resources such as tutoring labs and/or faculty.

Refer students to personal support services either within the college or in the community.

Minimum Qualifications

Require Bachelor's degree in related field. Degree requirement may be substituted with relevant and equivalent work experience.

Experience with labor market data, its relationship to college curriculum, and filling current and future job needs in the Tulsa MSA.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Ability to maintain positive relationships with personnel at all levels.

1 year experience in career advising and/or job placement programs, preferably in a community college environment.

Ability to work at various campuses as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

Prefer Master's degree in related field. Degree requirement may be substituted with relevant and equivalent work experience.

Licensed Professional Counselor.
