Career Advisor I
Pay:$19.95 per hour
Location: Onsite
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Assignment: Temporary

Are you passionate about helping others achieve their career goals? We are seeking a compassionate, resourceful, and motivated Career Advisor I to guide job seekers through career exploration, workforce programs, and employment opportunities.
 
In this rewarding role, you'll provide career coaching, case management, and workforce guidance to individuals from diverse backgrounds, helping them gain the skills, confidence, and resources needed to secure meaningful employment.
 
What You'll Do
As a Career Advisor, you will provide individualized career services and ongoing support to job seekers throughout their employment journey.
 
Career Coaching & Advising
  • Conduct comprehensive career assessments to identify customers' skills, interests, abilities, and long-term career goals.
  • Provide career counseling and individualized coaching to individuals with varying levels of work experience, including those facing significant barriers to employment.
  • Guide customers through career exploration using assessments, labor market information, and career planning tools.
  • Assist job seekers with resume development, interview preparation, mock interviews, and effective job search strategies.
  • Educate customers on current labor market trends, career pathways, wage expectations, and in demand occupations.
 
Workforce Programs & Case Management
  • Conduct intake interviews and determine eligibility for workforce development and grant funded programs.
  • Recommend workforce services and employment programs available through local, state, and federal resources.
  • Prepare and submit Individual Training Account (ITA), work based training, and supportive service requests.
  • Refer customers to occupational training, apprenticeships, educational programs, and professional development opportunities.
  • Maintain an active caseload and provide ongoing career advising, follow up, and case management services.
  • Monitor customer progress and provide referrals to internal and external support services when needed.
 
Employment Services
  • Screen participants for employment opportunities that align with their qualifications and career goals.
  • Partner with employer services teams to identify job opportunities for participants.
  • Connect customers with employers and workforce resources that support long term employment success.
  • Maintain accurate case notes, service documentation, and required records within management information systems.
  • Ensure all case files meet local, state, and federal quality assurance standards.
 
Collaboration
  • Develop strong working relationships with coworkers, community partners, employers, and the public.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve workforce services and customer outcomes.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
 
Qualifications
Required
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver's license with proof of insurance and a satisfactory driving record.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and case management abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and varying communication styles.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer applications.
 
Preferred
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree.
  • Previous experience in workforce development, career services, employment counseling, case management, human services, education, staffing, or workforce programs.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
