Position Summary: This position provides assistance to residents with tasks involving activities of daily living such as personal hygiene, housekeeping, dining and laundry services, social-recreational activities, delegated tasks, and other tasks as needed for resident well-being and building support.

4. Reads the staff communication records and maintains familiarity with resident records and service plans, as required.
5. Receives and gives reports from/to other shifts, as needed.
6. Assists residents in bathing, dressing, grooming, personal hygiene, and any other activities of daily living (ADL’s) as required with dignity and grace.
7. Assists with meal set-up, service and clean-up.
8. Assists residents with keeping their apartments clean. Communicates observed problems appropriately. Assists with removing and washing soiled laundry.
9. Supports and encourages residents to participate as is appropriate for their abilities.
10. Demonstrates knowledge of, and follows, infection control procedures, safety and administrative rules, adhering to all.
11. Clocks in and out at the start and end of shift and when taking scheduled meal breaks.
12. Avoids loss, breakage, and waste of supplies and equipment.
13. Assists with the orientation of new staff, as assigned or any other tasks as assigned.
14. Assists with meal set-up, service and clean-up.

Skills, Ability, and Qualifications: Previous experience working with older adults preferred, but not required. Keeps all information confidential. Ability to do heavy lifting; up to 50 pounds regularly and 75 pounds, occasionally. Ability to spend long periods on feet and ambulate quickly. Able to work various schedules and shifts, as needed. Must maintain a current CPR/First Aid Certifications and Food Handlers Card. Must complete all training; both new hire training and ongoing training. Attends monthly in-services required for position. Keeps current on monthly training requirements.
