Overview: The EP Lab CVT, under the direction the of the director/charge person, monitors procedures, assist physician in a scrub-assistant role, and circulates to include all diagnostic EP and cardiac ablations procedures, device implants and explants, cardiac cath procedures to ensures safe patient care. Qualifications:

Education:

  • Associate's Degree in Cardiovascular Technology, Radiologic Technology, or Respiratory Therapy 
  • In Lieu of education requirements, a minimum of five (5) years experience AND - Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) Certification (Required within 12 months of hire) OR - Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) Certification (Required within 12 months of hire)

 Licensure/Certification/Registration:

  • FL Certified Radiologic Technologist license with valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification (preferred)
  • OR - FL Registered Respiratory Therapist license with valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification (preferred) - Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) Certification
  • OR Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) Certification (Required within 12 months of hire if no degree in the applicable fields)
  •  BLS
  • ACLS

Special Skills/Qualifications/Additional Training/Experience Required: - Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English

 

Minimum 1 year recent experience in Cardiac Cath lab or EP lab:

For less than 1 year EP experience, must have graduated from an accredited academic program with a dedicated EP curriculum and successful completion of EP clinical rotations.

Must have a strong knowledge base in Electrocardiograms, rhythm analysis, sterile technique, cardiac anatomy, hemodynamics, and radiation protection
