GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under the direction of a Cardiologist, performs diagnostic ultrasonic procedures for evaluation as prescribed by a physician. Requires knowledge and use of highly specialized equipment.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Completed requirements as a Cardiac Sonographer from accredited program.
- Must be eligible to sit for Registered Cardiac Sonographer designation from national accreditation board.
- Completed Cardiac Sonographer program and eligible for Registry certification.
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer in an established hospital non-invasive cardiac testing unit, preferred.
LICENSURES/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer within one year of hire.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Works in a patient care setting with occasional exposure to unpleasant patient care tasks.
- Daily interaction with family members and staff.
- Extensive walking, standing, lifting, pushing, and the like may be necessary.
- Occasional interaction with disgruntled/unsatisfied patients and families.
- Outside travel to satellite locations as necessary.
