Job Summary
Summary:Responsible for specializing in the implantation and management of pacemakers.Does this position require Patient Care? YesEssential Functions:-Prepare patients for pacemaker implantation by explaining the procedure and answering any questions they may have. -Assist the physician during the pacemaker implantation procedure.-Program the pacemaker and adjusting its settings as needed.-Monitor patients after pacemaker implantation to ensure that the device is functioning properly and that the patient is not experiencing any complications.-Educate patients on the proper care and maintenance of their pacemakers.-Troubleshoot and repair pacemakers as needed.-Maintain accurate and detailed records of each patient's pacemaker implantation and management.Qualifications
Education:High School Diploma or Equivalent requiredCan this role accept experience in lieu of a degree?NoLicenses and Credentials:(AHA) preferred Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] - preferredExperience:Completion of a Pacemaker Technician training program or equivalent work experience. 1-2 years requiredKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology of the heart and cardiovascular system.- Knowledge of pacemaker equipment and procedures.- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.- Knowledge of medical terminology and computer systems used for medical record keeping.- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
