Job Overview:
AIMS Locum Tenens is seeking a skilled Cardiac Catheterization Technician atCardiac Catheterization Laboratory at Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC). The technician will assist physicians in performing diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures, operate advanced imaging and monitoring equipment, and ensure accurate documentation and patient safety throughout all procedures.


This role requires a high level of technical proficiency, attention to detail, and the ability to function effectively in a high-acuity, fast-paced, team-oriented clinical environment.


Specific Duties:
  • Assist physicians with cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures (angioplasty, stent placement, pacemaker/defibrillator insertion, electrophysiology studies)
  • Operate and maintain cardiac catheterization lab equipment and imaging systems 
  • Maintain sterile technique and comply with infection control and safety protocols 
  • Identify anatomical and physiological abnormalities and assist in clinical decision-making
Qualifications:

Degree/Education: Mandate - Graduate of a Cardiovascular Technologist program accredited by CAAHEP

Preferred Qualifications:
  •  Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS
  •  Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES
  •  Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) certification
Certifications:
  •  Current Basic Life Support (BLS)  and Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) either from American Red Cross/American Heart Association.
Experience:Minimum 18 months of clinical experience within the last 2 years as a Cardiac Catheterization Technician.  Atleast 18 month experience  with cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures (angioplasty, stent placement, pacemaker/defibrillator insertion, electrophysiology studies). 


Licensure: No state license required; must meet federal/DHA requirements

Schedule:
  •  8, 10, or 12-hour shifts taht May include weekends and holidays
  •  On-call and extended hours may be required as per department needs
Work Environment:
  •  Hospital-based Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory
  •  Level I Trauma Center setting
  •  High-acuity, fast-paced clinical environment
Immunization Requirements:
  •  Annual influenza vaccination
  •  Compliance with CDC and DHA immunization and TB screening guidelines
Security Requirements:
  •  Must obtain and maintain Tier 1 (NACI) background investigation
  •  Must be eligible to work in a federal healthcare environment
Professional Expectations: Adhere to DHA, MTF, and Joint Commission standards; maintain HIPAA compliance; demonstrate professionalism and ethical conduct; participate in required training and continuing education
