Job Description

GENERAL OVERVIEW This job assists the Invasive Cardiologist in the performance of diagnostic and interventional procedures, demonstrates leadership in collaboration with co-workers to achieve efficient and cost effective functioning of the department.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Integrates knowledge of cardiovascular and peripheral vascular physiology, pathophysiology and procedural techniques being performed and assists accordingly. (45%)
  • Maintains expertise in current radiographic imagery techniques as they relate to invasive cardiac and peripheral procedures. (15%)
  • Orients new staff on the operation of laboratory equipment. Troubleshoots malfunctions and is knowledgeable of proper support personnel and instances when they need to be contacted. (15%)
  • Anticipates adverse reactions/conditions when monitoring the effects of procedural activities and responds appropriately. (15%)
  • Completes all required documentation for procedures e.g. regulatory billing protocols and image storage and archival. (10%)
  • Performs all other duties as assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 3 years in a cardiac cath lab or interventional radiology.
  • Radiography Certification and Registration with The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) OR Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist with Cardiovascular Credentialing International.
  • ACLS Certification.
  • Requires critical thinking, decisive and independent judgment.
  • CPR - American Heart Association.
  • Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
  • Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
  • Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.

Preferred

  • Associates Degree preferred.
