TruBlu HR Solutions is seeking a Carbon Steel Welder for a full-time position in Andrews, TX. This position is responsible for performing high-quality welding on carbon steel vessels and piping using SMAW, GMAW (MIG), GTAW (TIG), and FCAW processes while ensuring compliance with approved welding procedures and industry codes. Candidates must have experience reading blueprints and weld symbols, fitting and fabricating materials, and passing an ASME 6G pipe welding test. Must be knowledgeable in OSHA safety standards, welding quality requirements, and inspection methods, with experience producing welds that meet visual, radiographic, and ultrasonic testing standards. Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required. Work Schedule: Mon-Fri 7a-5p - must be open to working Saturdays and Sundays when needed
Perform welding operations according to approved WPS and
applicable welding codes
• Perform SMAW and GMAW welding on code vessels and piping
• Measure, cut, fit, and assemble stainless steel parts prior to welding
• Ensure welds meet quality, strength, and appearance standards
• Inspect finished welds and make corrections as needed
• Weld using processes such as SMAW, GTAW (TIG), GMAW (MIG),
and/or FCAW
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and weld symbols
• Prepare materials by cutting, grinding, and fitting components
• Maintain weld quality to meet visual, radiographic, and ultrasonic
inspection standards
• Operate welding and related equipment safely and efficiently
• Document welds and maintain required quality and inspection records
Experience with pipe welding (carbon steel, stainless, alloy)
• Knowledge of structural and pipe welding.
• Ability to pass an ASME 6G pipe test.
• Knowledge of welding safety standards and procedures
• Knowledge of OSHA occupational hazards and necessary safety
precautions and ability to communicate compliance to others.
• Ability to multi-task and accomplish tasks despite interruptions.
• Possess basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division,
fractions and decimals).
• Ability to read blueprints and drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
• Ability to work standard work hours from 6:00am to 5:00pm plus
overtime as needed (weekdays) and some weekends as needed.
