PURPOSE
This position will support IP's performance goals by managing all aspects of the mill's engineering needs and responsibilities. This position will guarantee the appropriate internal and external resources are identified and readily accessible to accomplish mill and business specific requirements and initiatives, and will serve as a key contributing member to the mill's lead team.
Demonstrate leadership in the areas of safety as a core value and support broad-based participation in the mill's safety processes, employee engagement, and support the vision and organizational values of the Newport Mill.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORKING ENVIRONMENT
KEY KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum
Minimum of 5 years experience in a manufacturing lead position, preferably in a paper mill.
Experience developing and implementing annual productivity plans.
Strong written & verbal communication skills; problem solving, planning, priority setting, time management, and presentation and training delivery skills
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Demonstrated leadership to develop and maintain a high level of teamwork and cooperation between maintenance and other production teams.
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, pulp and paper science preferred.
Five years of engineering experience, leadership and management experience in a quality-focused manufacturing environment.
Preferred experience in strategic planning and budgeting process.
Demonstrated project management experience and working on large, complex capital projects
Demonstrated leadership skills combined with technical paper-making knowledge
Demonstrated ability to set expectations with stretch goals and measure work to determine degree of goal attainment.
Demonstrated ability to assist in IP maintenance initiatives and guide team(s) to successful completion of tasks and/or projects.
Understands and demonstrates commitment to meeting internal and external customer requirements.
