Capital Design Manager / Engineer

Description:
Act as a Lead technical expert for development, maintenance, and application of plant design standards as they relate to the design and execution of capital, expense and maintenance projects in a safe, profitable, timely and efficient manner.
Experience
Chemical Engineering Degree preferred.
A minimum of 8 years practical experience in refinery facilities and demonstration of extensive technical knowledge in the engineering and design of these facilities.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Coordinating, directing, and managing the day-to-day detail engineering/design of ongoing projects in the plant.
- Responsible for supervising the contract designers located at the site.
- Responsible for assigning and prioritizing the necessary resources for refinery projects.
- Administering and executing engineering and/or design required for the MOC work.
- Responsible for maintaining the plant engineering record.
- Assist in the Development of scope, design requirements and cost estimates needed to prepare “Engineering Work Request” (EWR's) and “Authorization for Expenditures” (AFE's) for capital and expense projects based upon process designs typically provided by others.
- Assist in Preparing specifications needed to procure materials and equipment for a timely and efficient execution of projects.
- Review of designs to assure compliance with recognized codes and engineering standards.
- Comply with company administrative guidelines for project execution.
- Provide status reports as needed to appropriate parties on projects.
- Lead technical design support to all refinery departments that will result in safe, efficient and cost-effective operation, design, repair and maintenance of process equipment.
- Participate in Major Projects Teams as a team member to support construction and start-up of new facilities.
