About the Role:Camp Canine Inc is looking for a passionate and energetic Canine Caretaker Camp Counselor to join our fun-loving team in Cary, NC! Responsibilities:- Supervise and monitor dogs during group play sessions to ensure safety and positive interactions
- Provide attentive daily care including feeding, hydration, and rest time management
- Assess dog behavior and temperament to ensure compatible group placements
- Administer basic first aid and promptly report health or behavioral concerns to management
- Maintain clean, sanitized, and safe environments
- Communicate updates and observations about dogs to pet owners in a friendly, professional manner
- Follow established camp protocols for dog handling, safety procedures, and daily routines
Requirements:- Genuine passion for dogs and animal welfare
- Prior experience with dog handling, pet care, or animal services preferred
- Ability to read and respond to canine body language and behavior cues or willingness to learn
- Physical ability to stand, move, and interact with dogs of all sizes for extended periods
- Ability to lift 50lbs
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working in an outdoor/indoor environment
- Must be a high school graduate or have an equivalent GED
- Must have a valid drivers license and a reliable vehicle
- Must be able to work full time. We do not hire part time or summer only workers
- Must be able to work holidays and weekends
- Must have a flexible schedule to accommodate our hours 7am-10pm
(Shifts are usually 7am-4pm & 1pm-10pm, some mid-shifts)
Pay:- New counselors start at $15/hour. Raises available at each advancement of training. Opportunities for promotion for qualified applicants.
