The Shorewood School District is seeking a Campus Supervisor, who will be an important resource for students and staff throughout the school day and at extracurricular activities.
With five classroom buildings and an open campus environment, the Shorewood High School Campus Supervisor ensures the safety, security, and well-being of students, staff, and visitors by monitoring and supervising campus activities. This role involves maintaining a positive and orderly environment, enforcing school policies, and fostering a welcoming atmosphere while supporting the academic and social development of students.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include:
Campus Supervision:
Patrol assigned areas, including hallways, classrooms, lunch service, library, restrooms, parking and outdoor spaces, to maintain a safe and secure environment.
Monitor student behavior and enforce school rules and policies in a fair and respectful manner.
Conflict Resolution & Student Support:
Address and resolve conflicts among students using de-escalation techniques and restorative practices.
Assist students in resolving issues or concerns, referring them to appropriate staff (e.g., counselors, administrators) as necessary.
Emergency Response:
Act as a first responder to emergencies, such as medical incidents, fights, or unauthorized visitors.
Follow established protocols for reporting and managing emergencies, including notifying law enforcement or medical personnel when appropriate.
Assist with drills and preparedness exercises (e.g., fire, lockdown, or evacuation drills).
Collaboration & Communication:
Work closely with teachers, administrators, and other staff to maintain a safe and productive campus environment.
Report incidents, concerns, or rule violations to appropriate personnel.
Build positive relationships with students, encouraging respectful and responsible behavior.
Administrative Duties:
Maintain accurate records of incidents and submit reports as required.
Assist with student check-ins, tardiness tracking, or other school-related processes.
Support extracurricular events by supervising attendees and ensuring orderly conduct.
Other duties as assigned.
Evening and weekend hours to support school events may be occasionally required.
