MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must pass various pre-placement background screenings
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Security experience desirable
  • Must be able to read, write, and comprehend English
  • Experience and/or skills working with culturally diverse populations desired.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Demonstrates interest and attitude for working with students
  • Monitors school campuses including building and grounds to prevent fire, theft, illegal entry, and vandalism
  • Supervises the faculty and student parking areas as well as monitoring vehicles which use campus access roads/lanes to and from school buildings
  • Reports any unusual or suspicious conditions in and around school campuses
  • Confronts unauthorized persons for questioning, redirecting them, and/or calling for assistance according to emergency plans
  • Confronts suspected drug or alcohol offenders and reporting such confrontations to building administrators
  • Maintains a safe, secure and orderly learning environment
  • Demonstrates effective two-way communication with building administrators, public agency personnel, faculty, students, and visitors
  • Manages assigned responsibilities effectively and efficiently
  • Maintains knowledge and skill in student management and school safety issues
