Campus MinisterMINISTRY / LOCATIONTulane CatholicEMPLOYMENT STATUSFull-Time | ExemptWORK ARRANGEMENTOn-SiteEMPLOYERArchdiocese of New OrleansREPORTS TODirector of Tulane CatholicPosition OverviewTulane Catholic is in a season of renewal. We are intentionally and energetically working to build a vibrant Catholic community for a new generation of Tulane students. The Campus Minister's work is both relational and organizational. On the relational side, the job is presence and outreach: being at Mass, meals, and events, getting to know students, and following up with those who are new or drifting.Just as important, the Campus Minister is a facilitator. Because the Director and several members of the leadership team serve Tulane Catholic part-time, the Campus Minister is the steady, full-time presence who holds the day-to-day ministry together. Working closely with the Director, the Ministry Operations Manager, our FOCUS missionaries, and student leaders, the Campus Minister keeps people and plans connected so that retreats, formation, events, and student leadership work together as one ministry. This means coordinating rather than owning every initiative: making sure the right people are talking, the calendar holds together, and nothing falls through the cracks. We are looking for someone who enjoys college students, works well on a team, has the follow-through to manage details, and wants to invest in students and their leadership over the long term.Compensation and BenefitsSalary: $50,000 to $55,000 annuallyFull benefits package through the Archdiocese of New OrleansOpportunities for your own spiritual and professional developmentFull-time, exempt positionSome evenings and weekends required during events, retreats, and major ministry activitiesOccasional overnight travel, including retreats and conferences such as SEEKStart DateJanuary 2027 preferred, with flexibility to Summer 2027 for the right candidateReportingReports directly to the Director of Tulane CatholicMember of the Ministry Leadership TeamWorks closely with the Ministry Operations Manager and FOCUS team, coordinating with them rather than supervising themPrimary staff point of contact for the Student Leadership TeamSupervises the campus ministry intern, if one is hiredDuties and ResponsibilitiesStudent Presence and HospitalityBe consistently present at the student center: at Mass, at meals, at events, and in ordinary momentsSeek out and welcome new students, with particular attention to those on the margins of the communityHelp coordinate Sunday Night Supper and other hospitality momentsFormation and RetreatsPlan and lead formation evenings, talks, and retreats throughout the academic yearHandle retreat logistics, recruit participants, and follow up with students afterwardHelp students connect their faith to their daily life at TulaneStudent Leadership Team (SLT)Serve as the primary point of contact and formation resource for the SLTRecruit, form, and empower student leaders to take ownership of ministry activitiesFacilitate regular SLT meetings and help set the direction of student-led initiativesCoordination and FacilitationServe as the main point of coordination between the Director, the FOCUS team, the Ministry Operations Manager, and student leadersBuild and maintain a ministry calendar that brings FOCUS Bible studies, events, retreats, and formation into one rhythmSupport FOCUS missionaries without directing or supervising them; the Director retains direct oversightCommunicate proactively about scheduling, logistics, and student needsCommunicationsWork with the Ministry Operations Manager on social media and promotion for events and programmingHelp tell the story of Tulane Catholic to students, alumni, and supportersQualificationsPracticing Catholic who loves the Church and believes deeply in the mission of Catholic campus ministryBachelor's degree required; degree in theology, ministry, education, or related field preferredExperience in Catholic campus ministry, preferably with FOCUS, Christ in the City, SPO, or a similar apostolateStrong relational skills: naturally warm, energetic, and at ease with college studentsAbility to collaborate within a team and communicate proactivelyComfortable with basic digital communications and social mediaMust complete the Archdiocese of New Orleans Safe Environment training and background check before beginning workYou'd Be a Great Fit If You...Are excited about building a ministry and investing in the next generationEnjoy college students and are at ease spending time with themAre a natural facilitator who makes things happen by bringing the right people togetherHave Enablement and Galvanizing among your Working Genius strengths (from Patrick Lencioni's model): you get energy from supporting others and from rallying people around a shared goalBring enough Tenacity, the Working Genius of seeing work through to completion, to follow through on the details even when it isn't glamorousComplement a more directive, vision-driven leader by running with the vision and making it relationalAre eager to learn, willing to stretch, and joyful in your vocationDefinition of SuccessIn this role, you are succeeding when:Students who walk in for the first time come back because someone made them feel like they belongedThe FOCUS team and the broader ministry calendar are well-coordinated and working in the same directionThe Director and the Ministry Leadership Team are kept well informed about students, events, and needsStudents, led by a Student Leadership Team growing in confidence and faith, are taking ownership of the community: inviting friends, leading events and small groups, and carrying initiatives forward without staff having to drive themRetreats and formation evenings are happening, are well-attended, and are spiritually fruitfulThe community has a visible, winsome presence on campus and on social mediaStudents are not just participating in programs but are being formed as disciples and leadersTo ApplyThis position is posted through the Archdiocese of New Orleans.
