Job Summary

The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a federal work study student in the Strategic Impact & Engagement department on the Cumming campus. The Campus Events and Outreach Support Assistant provides operational and administrative assistance to the Office of Community Engagement, the Office of Government Relations, and the Strategic Support Team in support of campus and community programming. This role assists with coordinating events, supporting daily office functions, and engaging with a variety of internal and external constituents to help strengthen relationships and ensure successful program delivery. The student employee will report to the Associate Vice President for the Office of Community Engagement and will be based on the Cumming campus.

Responsibilities

  • Support the planning and execution of a wide range of internal and external events, programs, meetings, and special projects
  • Learn and apply event and program requirements to assist with logistical planning and administrative coordination
  • Provide support within established timelines and budget parameters for events and programs
  • Participate in on-site event support activities such as registration and guest check-in, basic audiovisual assistance, and other operational needs
  • Assist with event setup and breakdown to ensure smooth implementation before, during, and after events
  • Support faculty and staff with scheduling and managing events using university-approved systems and software
  • Serve as a point of contact within the office by welcoming visitors, answering questions, and directing individuals to appropriate campus resources
  • Occasional travel between campuses or to off-campus locations may be requested, as needed (optional)

Required Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker.
