    Camera Operator

    Summary

    Entravision is looking for a skilled and reliable Camera Operator to join our national Spanish-language streaming news team. This role is responsible for operating studio cameras during live newscasts, breaking news coverage, and special productions while working closely with directors, producers, talent, and the technical team to deliver dynamic, high-quality broadcasts.

    Essential Functions

    • Operate studio cameras during live newscasts, special coverage, interviews, and recorded productions.
    • Execute camera shots accurately following the Technical Director''s direction.
    • Frame, compose, and adjust shots to maintain professional broadcast quality.
    • Work closely with directors, producers, floor directors, and on-air talent to ensure seamless productions.
    • Set up and reposition cameras, tripods, and studio equipment as needed.
    • Assist with lighting adjustments and basic studio setup when required.
    • Maintain awareness of rundown changes and react quickly during breaking news situations.
    • Perform routine equipment checks and report technical issues promptly.
    • Support special events and remote productions as assigned.

    Required Education and Experience

    • Minimum 2 years of experience operating studio cameras in a television newsroom or live production environment.
    • Experience with robotic and/or pedestal studio cameras preferred.
    • Understanding of live news production workflows and control room operations.
    • Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
    • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
    • Comfortable working evenings, early mornings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours during major news events.
    • Basic knowledge of broadcast technology and digital production workflows.
    • Ability to communicate effectively in a bilingual newsroom is a plus
    • Calm under pressure, detail-oriented with excellent visual composition skills, team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
    • Dependable, flexible, and adaptable.
    • Comfortable in a multiplatform newsroom where speed, accuracy, and collaboration are essential.

    POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

    This is a Full Time position. Actual schedule and hours may vary.

    Reports directly to VP Special Projects & Strategic Initiatives for Broadcast
