Busy Ophthalmology practice with 10 locations in CT, looking for Call Center Associates to join our team in East Hartford. The call center customer service associate is a liaison between our company and its current and potential patients. The successful candidate will be able to accept ownership for effectively solving patient issues, complaints, and inquiries, keeping patient satisfaction at the core of every decision and behavior. Provide general office support with a variety of clerical activities and related tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Managing large amounts of inbound calls in a timely manner

  • Route calls to appropriate resources

  • Identify patient needs and clarify information provided

  • Research issues and provide solutions and/or alternatives

  • Enter patient information into EMR; obtain and verify patient demographics

  • Update existing patient information

  • Scan documentation into the patient’s electronic chart

  • Schedule appointments

  • Verify insurance benefits and co-payments

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to handle call volume with grace and a friendly customer service attitude

  • Willingness to learn new skills within 6-month period

  • Available to work Monday through Friday, as well as occasional Saturdays

  • Excellent data entry and typing skills

  • Superb customer service skills

  • Excellent active listening, problem solving, verbal & written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

  • Adaptability to differing personality types

  • Ability to multi-task, manage time effectively and prioritize tasks

  • Dedication to teamwork and maintaining confidentiality

Bilingual (Spanish) reading, writing, and speaking skills are a plus

Ophthalmology experience preferred but not required


Education and Experience:
