Position Purpose: The Calibration Technician will plan, lead, and perform calibration activities, both by performing calibration activities and working with calibration suppliers. They will be held accountable for training, improvement, and independent problem solving in their area. The Calibration Technician will regularly interface with Quality Engineering, Production Planning, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Test as needed.

Pay Range: $27.00 - 40.00/hour

On-site position at our Lafayette, CO location (work locations are subject to change based on business need).

Job Responsibilities:

  • Calibrate and/or verify inspection, measurement, and test equipment, both mechanical and electrical.
  • Interface with calibration suppliers to send tools out for calibration, returned, and repaired if necessary.
  • Ensure the calibration data provided is accurate and maintain calibration records.
  • Manage the determination of risk/actions when OOT tools are discovered.
  • Perform equipment verifications in-house, such as torque, calipers, and scales.
  • Create, update, and maintain validation, verification, and calibration procedures in accordance with national standards (ISO17025, ISO9001, AS9100).
  • Foster a collaborative and interactive team environment that supports both a learning and teaching culture. Maintain an effective working relationship with others in the company.
  • Follow established job safety practices, policies and procedures as specified in plant and in corporate directives for the safe performance of daily activities. Proactively suggest improvements and elevate issues to management.
  • Find ways to continuously improve the processes to reduce schedule and cost.
  • Identify and correct measurement errors, as applicable.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications/Education:

  • A.S. in a technical discipline OR equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience with calibration.
  • Experience using computers for data entry, item lookups, etc.
  • Familiarity with ISO9001 and AS9100 requirements as it pertains to manufacturing and quality operations.
  • Independent critical thinking skills are always required.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of ISO17025.
  • Preferred: Ability to perform uncertainty evaluation and analysis for measurement standards and associated measurement processes.
  • Preferred: Experience with the following electrical and/or mechanical equipment: torque, calipers, micrometers, scales, power supplies, electronic loads, DMMs, oscilloscopes.
  • Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education.

Working Conditions:

This job operates in a professional office environment, but in a manufacturing company. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines. BCT anticipates the application window closing approximately 40 days from the date the notice was posted.
