Position: Calibration Technician
Location: 14905 Kirby Drive, Houston, TX 77047
Contract Duration: 6 Months (Potential Extension or Full-Time Conversion)
Pay Rate: $36/hour (W2)

Position Summary
The Calibration Technician is responsible for safely performing scheduled preventive maintenance, calibration activities, and troubleshooting tasks in accordance with current cGMP procedures and quality standards. The role requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, instrumentation, process equipment, and technical documentation practices. The technician will support regulated manufacturing operations by ensuring instrumentation accuracy, reliability, and compliance.
 
Key Responsibilities

  • Perform monthly planned maintenance and on-demand calibration activities for mechanical, digital, and analog instrumentation.
  • Execute calibration tasks and troubleshooting activities with a focus on safety, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Maintain proficiency in instrumentation maintenance, electrical systems, and calibration procedures.
  • Complete all required safety, cGMP, and technical training programs, including procedures, case studies, and documentation requirements.
  • Accurately complete maintenance records and documentation using GMP-compliant systems and software tools.
  • Utilize SAP, Document Management Systems (DMS), Quality Management Systems (QMS), Microsoft Excel, Word, and other software platforms as required.
  • Follow all site safety procedures, quality guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to resolve instrumentation issues.
 
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Electronics, Instrumentation, or a related technical discipline.
  • 1–3 years of experience in calibration, instrumentation, electrical maintenance, or related technical roles.
  • Previous cGMP experience required; biotechnology or pharmaceutical manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Military technical service background considered a plus.
  • Experience working with standard electronic test equipment and diagnostic tools.
  • Strong understanding of electrical theory, instrumentation principles, and basic troubleshooting techniques.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
 
Preferred Qualifications
  • ISA Level 1 certification or higher preferred.
  • Experience with DeltaV control systems.
  • Knowledge of Profibus and HART instrumentation protocols.
  • Experience with SAP, OneNote, Adobe, and electronic documentation systems.
  • Familiarity with GMP documentation practices and regulated manufacturing environments.
