    04/27/2026 JOB TITLE: Trainee, Cafeteria Worker STATUS: Non-Exempt REPORTS TO: Cafeteria Manager TERMS: 178 Days DEPARTMENT: Food Services PAY GRADE: 300 PRIMARY PURPOSE: The position will provide district support across multiple campuses. Gain hands-on experience in a fast- paced food service environment by shadowing experienced staff. Will provide exposure to daily operations, customer service, food preparation, and safety standards. QUALIFICATIONS: Special Knowledge/Skills: Working knowledge of kitchen equipment and food production Ability to understand instructions for food preparation and safety procedures Experience: No prior food service experience required MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

    1. Shadow, observe and support team members in a variety of roles across multiple campus locations.
    2. Observe and learn how to prepare quality food according to a planned menu of tested, uniform recipes.
    3. Serve food according to meal schedules, departmental policies and procedures, practice and promote portion control and proper use of leftovers.
    4. Learn proper food handling, preparation, and storage techniques
    5. Operate tools and equipment according to prescribed safety standards and follow established procedures to meet high standards of cleanliness, health, and safety.
    6. Maintain garbage collection containers and areas in a neat and sanitary fashion.
    7. Assist with basic tasks such as cleaning, organizing, and restocking supplies
    8. Handle and record cashier functions accurately.
    9. Assist in recording food requisitions and request orders of necessary supplies.
    10. Maintain personal appearance and hygiene.
    11. Use of Time Clock Plus (TCP) and Frontline accurately and consistently.
    12.
