    Position Description

    POSITION TITLE: Cafeteria Worker FLSA: Non-Exempt

    Qualifications

    • High School Diploma or GED
    • Current TB test
    • Food Safety Certification
    • Ability to read and communicate in English
    • Ability to accurately count, weigh, and measure
    • Ability to follow instructions and take initiative in performance of assigned tasks
    • Physical ability to walk, stoop, stand, twist, and squat on a constant basis
    • Lift a minimum of 25 pounds

    Environmental Requirements

    • Must work in a hot, humid environment
    • Must work in a cold or below zero environment for short periods

    Reports To

    • Cafeteria Manager
    • Building Administrator

    Terms of Employment

    • Daily contracted services for the current school year

    Essential Job Functions

    • Demonstrate an interest in objectives of the School Nutrition Program and have a concern for the welfare of children
    • Interact with staff, students, faculty, visitors, and co-workers in a pleasant and professional manner
    • Assist with food preparation, portioning, holding service, and storage of left-overs
    • Adhere to all HACCP guidelines

    Other Job Functions

    • Report to work at scheduled time with proper uniform and appropriately groomed
    • Adhere to all school district and building rules and regulations
    • Participate in meetings, training sessions, and seminars as scheduled
    • Complete other tasks as assigned
